In 1978, what begun as a Student Business Project for a conventional Business AUP class, was exactly what the university needed. With just a simple espresso machine, a few sodas and wrapped sandwiches, from day one the Amex Café became the hangout place of preference for students. During the 80's it reached wider demographics when students from other Parisian universities would join the incomparable ambiance. At one point, it was the number one seller of Carlsberg beer in all of Paris. In the mid 90's, our now famous Open Mic was incorporated.
Currently the Amex is privately ran and hosts a wide variety of events, from music concerts to fundraisers, it has a full menu and is a reference place for televised american sporting events. With almost 35 years of existence, the Amex is one of the oldest running bars in this beautiful city.
